Marc
A. Ybaben, Ph.D. is the Founder and Executive Director of The Leadership
Development Center. He is also a Principal in The Global Consulting
Partnership, Inc. - a closely affiliated network of 250 entrepreneurial
consultancies, each one expert in working with individuals and organizations
to help them shape and change their behavior. Dr. Ybaben has made
it his career to help people realize more productive, satisfying
and creative lives. He assists companies in achieving key business
objectives by working from the "inside-out," that is,
advancing individuals to effect organizational transformations.
Dr. Ybaben believes that the development of people is mission critical
if any enterprise wants to succeed, and he has guided individuals
and organizations in taking their blueprints for change into real
action.
His
typical activities include advisor and coach to the chief executive,
developing key leaders and managers, assessing candidates for high-level
and international positions, derailment prevention with valued but
under-performing contributors, and designing and implementing customized
development programs. With an organization, he uses specialized
tools for training groups of leaders and managers, collaborating
in the design of challenging activities for leadership growth, and
enhancing leaders' ability to learn.
Dr.
Ybaben received his undergraduate degree in psychology and music
at the University of the Pacific, and his doctorate in clinical
psychology from Northern Illinois University. He has several years
of firsthand experience as a leader, manager and officer while serving
in the US Air Force. He has partnered with other coaching firms,
and has consulted with businesses in the communications, financial
services, manufacturing, technology, law enforcement, and e-commerce
industries. Dr. Ybaben has extensive experience coaching and developing
executives in such areas as leadership skills, communication skills,
stress management in the workplace, peak performance training, rational
thinking skills, and conflict resolution in organizations.
Dr.
Ybaben is a member of several professional organizations, including
the American Psychological Association's Division of Consulting
Psychology and the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association.
He is on the Faculty at the University of Phoenix, and the Graduate
Faculty at Argosy University's doctoral program in Clinical Psychology.
He spends his free time with his family and two Australian Shepherds,
and enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and rollerblading. Dr. Ybaben
is an accomplished musician, and performs professionally in Southern
California.
